I strongly suggest that cities encourage preservation of older buildings. Because firstly, preservation of older buildings is a primary way of preserving the city’s history. By presenting what people’s life was like in the past, people could learn from them, feel proud about their own historical heritage and build the sense of affiliation within the city.

Secondly, those old buildings can boost tourism and benefit the whole city in a large scale. For example the city Rome stays the way what it liked for thousands of years.The local government preserved all the ancient architectures which attracts millions of tourists and made Rome a world class historical and touristic spot.
